The 2024 UIM XCAT World Championship arrives in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia.

From 21st to 23rd November 2024, the waters of Al Khobar in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province will host, for the very first time, a round of the prestigious UIM XCAT World Championship: the Alsharqiyah Grand Prix. This event marks a pivotal moment in the championship, as the penultimate round before the Grand Finale in Dubai, next December, where the World Champion will be crowned.

With ten teams ready to compete, the current championship standings reveal a tightly contested battle at the top. Leading the Overall is boat no. 2, Swecat Racing, with 192 points, led by the duo of Swedish pilot Sebastian Groth and Norwegian Erik Sundblad Johansen. In second place, with 155 points, are the Italian brothers Rosario and Giuseppe Schiano di Cola on boat no. 96 for HPI Fujairah Racing Team. In the Third position boat no. 7, Victory Team, with the Emirati duo, Salem Al Adidi and Eisa Al Ali, with 137 points.

With a narrow points gap among the top contenders, the championship remains wide open, making the Al Khobar stage a potentially decisive round in shaping the final standings and bringing teams closer to the coveted world title.
