VICTORY TAKES CONTROL AND CLAIMS RACE 2
A dominant win for the Emirati crew of Salem Al Adidi and Eisa Al Ali, who secured victory in Race 2 of the Fujairah Grand Prix, the opening round of the 2025 UIM XCAT World Championship.
After Sharjah’s triumph in Race 1—despite being involved in a dramatic crash during qualifying, fortunately without consequences—the Victory Team delivered a flawless performance in Race 2, leaving no room for competition. A perfect start and impeccable race control forced Team GB to ease off in the closing laps, settling for second place.
A solid performance came from the Italian duo Rosario and Giuseppe Schiano di Cola, who, despite competing under the Italian flag, were effectively the home team, as their sponsor was none other than the Emirate of Fujairah. The rough and windy sea conditions proved challenging, especially for their boat—the only one in the paddock built by an American shipyard. Nevertheless, thanks to a strong start, the Italian crew secured third place and a well-earned podium finish, keeping them third in the standings, 24 points behind Victory.
The championship has already demonstrated an exceptionally high competition, with several top-tier professionals returning. At least six teams are separated by just fractions of a second.
Unfortunately, the Sharjah crew managed to start after their morning crash but had to retire immediately due to technical issues. Meanwhile, the second Italian team was forced to withdraw before making it to the starting line.
