Victory conquista la Pole Position Q2
Dubai, 13 December 2025 – A day of high intensity and spectacular action unfolded at the Dubai GP, Grand Finale of the 2025 UIM XCAT World Championship, where today’s on-water activities showcased the full drama and toughness of top-level offshore racing. On the highly technical and demanding Sunset Beach circuit, qualifying for Race 2 once again confirmed the extremely high competitive standard of the 2025 season contenders.
Victory Team secured pole position, ahead of the Italian HPI Fujairah team, which delivered a strong and impressive performance to claim second place, while Sharjah Racing Team completed the qualifying top three in third position. The result mirrors the order already seen in Q1 and further underlines the dominance of the three leading teams at this season finale: Victory, HPI Fujairah and Sharjah Racing Team, all synonymous with consistency, reliability and top-level performance.
Already crowned world champions with one race still to run, Victory once again confirmed its benchmark status on one of the most selective tracks on the calendar. The qualifying session was fiercely contested and decided by the smallest of margins. Italian brothers Rosario and Giuseppe Schiano di Cola led the timesheets for much of the session thanks to a 2:27.6 lap set on their second run, before being edged out in the closing stages by Victory by just two tenths of a second, following an intensely fought battle.
It was an unlucky session for boat number 3, which suffered a serious technical issue during its pole attempt. A failure in the rear section of the hull caused water ingress, forcing the team into an immediate retirement and an early return to the pits for safety reasons.
With today’s result, Victory also officially clinched the 2025 Pole Position Championship, ahead of Sharjah Racing Team and HPI Fujairah, completing a season dominated in every aspect, from qualifying to racing.
The championship finale continues to draw a large and enthusiastic local crowd, with packed grandstands lining the finish line area, where the boats thunder past at speeds exceeding 200 km/h, extremely close to the spectators, delivering a unique and thrilling spectacle in the world of offshore racing.
Race 2 will take place tomorrow at Sunset Beach Dubai, bringing the 2025 XCAT World Championship to its eagerly anticipated conclusion.
