XCAT Grand Prix Fiumicino: Driver Testing appointment
A new day full of enthusiastic events has started. As the first activity of the day, the teams underwent the weight check of the boat by UIM technicians.
The weight of the boats is calculated by subtracting from the minimum weight required by the regulations (2400 kg) the weight of the pilots in race gear (i.e. the suit, and helmet).
The weight of the boat is then measured by a special precision scale placed on the crane used to put the motorboats in the water.
If a lower value than the declared one is recorded, teams risk penalties and in more serious cases even disqualification.
