Erik Sundblad Johansen made his XCAT debut in 2023 at the Romania Grand Prix and has remained in the series ever since. After two years with the SWECAT Racing Team, which culminated in a second-place finish in the 2024 Offshore XCAT World Championship overall, he joined the new Energima Racing Team at the start of the 2025 season.
An experienced racer who won both the UIM World and European Offshore 3C Championships in 2019 and 2018, Erik will serve as throttleman for the team’s new boat, while Marit Strømøy takes the driver’s seat.
Off the water, Erik is a successful businessman and owner of Sundblad Holding AS.

Marit Strømøy entered the UIM XCAT World Championship in 2025 with the new Energima Racing team. Joining throttleman Erik Sundblad Johansen and team owner/reserve driver Arild Brede Magnussen, Marit is ready to showcase her driving skills with her new Norwegian team.
A seasoned driver who began her powerboat career in 1989, Marit is the first and only competitor to race in the UIM Offshore XCAT World Championship, Circuit F1H2O World Championship, and Electric E1 Series World Championship in the same season.
The first woman to win a Circuit F1 GP and the first F1 driver to adopt the new Mercury Racing 360 APX engine, Marit is also a talented singer and motivational speaker.
