With a career spanning more than four decades, Giampaolo Montavoci is one of the most experienced throttlemen in the offshore powerboat racing community, having won five UIM titles and throttled race boats all over the world.
Racing and deeply involved in the UIM Offshore 3D class, Giampaolo remains a driving force in promoting the sport in Italy and beyond.
Returning to the UIM XCAT World Championship as team owner of the new entry Mate USA, Giampaolo will once again take the throttleman’s seat, partnering with young Italian Alberto Huober in boat n°16.

Pavia’s native Alberto Huober is the latest pilot to join the UIM XCAT World Championship, after a year of gaining experience and valuable seat time in Offshore 3D, another UIM Offshore class featuring twin outboard engines.
Engines and motorsport are nothing new to Alberto, who already has extensive experience in historic boat racing, car racing, and karting.
Teaming up with veteran throttleman Giampaolo Montavoci, Alberto is eager to make his mark on the UIM XCAT World Series.
